Barnes & Thornburg has added corporate and litigation attorneys to its Dallas and Los Angeles offices.
An associate in the Los Angeles office, Sarah Abeson assists and advises entertainment clients with copyright issues, including assignments, infringement, and termination, as well as with catalog licensing and sales. Along with her colleagues, Abeson helps clients realize the risks and rewards of potential transactions and advises on protecting, maintaining, or recapturing their intellectual property rights. She also counsels musicians, artists, and influencers in reviewing and drafting songwriter agreements, recording deals, side artist and featured artist agreements, and merchandise agreements. Abeson earned her J.D. from UCLA School of Law in 2020 and her B.A. in economics and social sciences from the University of Southern California in 2015.
Jenna Johnson, an associate in the Dallas office, primarily defends pharmaceutical and medical device clients facing complex commercial disputes and multidistrict litigation (MDL). Johnson is valued for her strong, creative, and persuasive writing and litigation skills, which she has honed through drafting pleadings, drafting and arguing motions, and managing discovery. In the course of her career, she represented clients in product liability and other commercial disputes involving trade secret misappropriation, breach of contract, wills and trusts, and had a document sealed that could have disclosed highly sensitive information. Johnson earned her J.D. from Texas A&M University School of Law in 2020 and her B.S. in communication from the University of Miami in 2016.
An associate in the Dallas office, Anna Kalinina is experienced in handling a wide variety of complex commercial and product liability matters in state and federal courts throughout Texas and across the country. Kalinina defends product liability matters for medical device and pharmaceutical manufacturers, and manages virtually all aspects of pretrial practice, including arguing motions and drafting pleadings and discovery. She has also successfully represented clients in cases involving commercial contract disputes, business torts, breach of fiduciary duty, misappropriation of trade secrets, and oil and gas matters. Kalinina earned her J.D. from Baylor Law School in 2014 and her B.A. in international studies from Baylor University in 2010.
