Goodwin Welcomes ERISA Partner David McFarlane in Los Angeles
Global law firm Goodwin today announced that David McFarlane joined the firm’s ERISA and Executive Compensation practice as a partner, resident in the Los Angeles office.
“Our ERISA and Executive Compensation team helps clients navigate the myriad of requirements and issues applicable to employee benefit and compensation matters as they seize opportunities at the intersection of capital and innovation,” said Jim Mattus, co-chair of Goodwin’s ERISA and Executive Compensation practice. “David’s deep experience with employee benefits issues will further augment our deep expertise serving clients’ needs related to benefit plan matters across the technology, life sciences, private equity, real estate, and financial industries, and where these industries converge.”
McFarlane has over 25 years of experience in the U.S. and Canada advising clients on a broad range of matters under ERISA, the Internal Revenue Code, the Affordable Care Act, and other laws related to retirement, health, and welfare benefits, as well as executive compensation. He also counsels clients on ERISA fiduciary protection, cybersecurity risks, national and international corporate transactions, regulatory filings, and employee benefits in bankruptcy reorganizations.
