Jalal Moughania Joins Varnum Corporate Team
Varnum is pleased to announce that Jalal Moughania has joined the firm’s Business and Corporate Practice Team. He is based out of Varnum’s Ann Arbor and Detroit offices.
Moughania serves as outside corporate counsel to emerging companies, international organizations, closely held businesses, NGOs and nonprofits. His broad experience ranges across matters of corporate governance and entity formation, IP protection and tech licensing, mergers and acquisitions, nonprofit compliance and tax-exempt status procurement, negotiations and international business transactions.
Moughania also has extensive experience in trademark clearance, prosecution and registration with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). He regularly counsels clients on brand strategy and IP protection.
Moughania represents and advises entrepreneurs, executives, investors and business entities on formation, licensing, strategic planning/compliance, start up financing and reputation management. In his role as outside general counsel to many of his clients, he regularly advises owners, directors, and shareholders on contract matters involving day-to-day operations as well as strategic best practices and compliance.
Prior to entering private practice, Moughania worked as a law and policy analyst in Washington, D.C.
Moughania received his Juris Doctorate from the University of Toledo College of Law. He is a cum laude graduate of Wayne State University where he received a BA in Political Science. He has also received Certificates of Achievement in Law & Public Policy and Economic Development from Harvard University and Oxford University, respectively.
