Aaron Wais Joins Lathrop GPM’s Intellectual Property Litigation Team

Lathrop GPM is pleased to welcome Aaron Wais as a partner in the firm’s Los Angeles office. Wais is joining the firm’s Intellectual Property Litigation Practice Group where he will support clients in a wide variety of disputes ranging from intellectual property and business litigation disputes to data privacy matters.

Wais’ litigation practice focuses on intellectual property disputes and business litigation, with a particular emphasis on disputes involving copyright infringement, trademark infringement, defamation, misappropriation of publicity rights, false advertising. During his career, Wais has also represented clients in numerous other types of disputes, including labor and employment disputes, profit participation and royalty disputes, and breach of contract. He represents a wide range of clients including clients in the entertainment industry (e.g., film and television studios, digital media companies, production companies, record companies, publishers, and other content creators and distributors), retailers, advertisers, apparel companies, designers, health care companies, and universities.

Additionally, Wais is designated a Certified Information Privacy Professional/United States (CIPP/US) by The International Association of Privacy Professionals. Using this knowledge, he provides clients with proactive legal advice regarding data privacy and protection.

Wais earned a law degree from Georgetown University Law Center. During law school, he served as a law clerk for The Honorable Wendell P. Gardner, J.R. of the Superior Court in Washington, D.C. He holds a bachelor’s degree from The College of William and Mary.
