Pooja Bhutani Joins the Gibbons Employment & Labor Law Group
Gibbons P.C. is pleased to announce that Pooja Bhutani has joined the firm as an associate in the Employment & Labor Law Group, resident in the Newark office.
Ms. Bhutani was most recently with the law firm of Jackson Lewis, P.C. She brings to her employment and labor litigation practice extensive experience representing employers and management in federal and state courts, handling individual, class, and collective actions, as well as in arbitration and before federal and state agencies. She focuses on the defense of matters pertaining to federal and state employment discrimination, retaliation/whistleblowing, harassment, and wage and hour in New Jersey and New York. In her employment law compliance and counseling practice, Ms. Bhutani provides advice and counsel to employers from a range of industries on litigation avoidance, leaves of absence, employee discipline and termination, employment contracts and separation agreements, wage and hour, and compliance with company policies and federal, state, and local statutes. She also conducts workplace investigations and assists employers in drafting company policies and training materials.
Ms. Bhutani earned her J.D. from Hofstra University, Maurice A. Deane School of Law, where she served as President of the Labor and Employment Society and was a recipient of the Jonathan Falk Memorial Scholarship, which is awarded to students with an interest in Labor and Employment law and who exhibit academic excellence, leadership, and a concern for peers. She earned her B.A., cum laude, from Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey – New Brunswick. She is admitted to practice in the states of New Jersey and New York, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit, and the U.S. District Courts for the District of New Jersey, and the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York.
