Goodwin’s Global Private Equity Platform Adds Partner Rachel Frankeny in Washington, D.C.

Global law firm Goodwin today announced that Rachel Frankeny joined the Private Equity practice as partner, resident in the Washington, D.C. office.

“Rachel joins our team at a time of unprecedented deal volume in all of our markets,” said Michael Kendall, co-chair of Goodwin’s Private Equity practice. “Her broad transactional experience adds immediate depth across our platform as we continue to strengthen our offering alongside accelerating global demand.”

Frankeny concentrates her practice in the areas of mergers and acquisitions, strategic investments, and general corporate and securities matters. She has represented buyers and sellers in a variety of public and private transactions, including negotiated and contested public acquisitions, auctions, spin-offs, internal reorganizations, and joint ventures and other strategic alliances.

Goodwin’s global Private Equity practice has grown substantially in the last 18 months with the arrival of partners Josh Ratner, Karen Chao, Pavel Shaitanoff, Matthew Gruenberg, and Colin Carley in New York; James Moriarty in New York and Santa Monica; Zee Ahmedani in Los Angeles; Edwin Chan in Hong Kong; Jan Schinkoth, Joachim Kayser, and Oded Shein in Germany; and James Grimwood, Erik Dahl, Christian Iwasko, Sava Savov, Michelle Tong, John Van De North, Geoff O’Dea, Hugh O’Sullivan, David Irvine, and Dulcie Daly in London. Goodwin now has more than 300 private equity lawyers in the United States, Europe, and Hong Kong.

Goodwin ranks at the top of private equity and M&A league tables around the world. Bloomberg named Goodwin the number one law firm by deal volume for global mid-market private equity M&A transactions up to $500 million in the first half of 2021. Reuters and Refinitiv ranked Goodwin the number one law firm by deal count for global M&A transactions in the first half of 2021.
