Gunster further expands its capabilities with addition of five attorneys statewide across multiple practices

Gunster, one of Florida’s oldest and largest full-service business law firms, is pleased to announce it continues to grow with the recent addition of attorneys Australia Alba, Mary Kathryn King, Angela Misch, R. Ryan Morris and Derek Mountford.

Australia Alba joins the firm’s Tax, Private Wealth Services and International practices in the Fort Lauderdale office. An international lawyer with parallel law degrees in the civil-law and common-law systems, Alba focuses her practice on ERISA and employee benefits law, estate planning and transactional business tax law.

Alba earned her LL.M. in Taxation from Georgetown University Law Center, her J.D. from University of Miami School of Law, her LL.M. from University of Pennsylvania Law School, and her LL.B. from Pontificia Universidad Catolica Madre y Maestra in the Dominican Republic.

Mary Kathryn King joins the Labor & Employment Law practice in the West Palm Beach office. King is a former assistant state attorney for Florida’s Fourth Judicial Circuit.

King earned her Juris Doctor degree from Florida State University College of Law and her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Florida. She has working proficiencies in Russian, Spanish, Georgian and Latin.

Angela J. Misch joins the Business Litigation practice in the West Palm Beach office. She assists with matters ranging from breach of contract claims to shareholder derivative actions at both the federal and state level. Prior to joining the firm, Misch gained experience as a litigation associate working with both Florida and New York clients.  

Misch earned her Juris Doctor degree from the University of Florida Levin College of Law. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Advertising with a minor in Business from Florida State University.

R. Ryan Morris joins the Corporate, Health Care and Government Affairs practices in the Jacksonville office. Morris guides corporate clients and healthcare companies through all phases of transactions including strategic partnerships, joint ventures, mergers and acquisitions, reorganizations, and business disputes. He also focuses on provider/payor disputes with commercial and governmental payors.

Morris earned his Juris Doctor degree from Emory University School of Law and his Bachelor of Science degree from University of West Georgia.

Derek K. Mountford joins the Business Litigation practice in the Jacksonville office. He has experience working on cases involving contract disputes, claims arising under the Uniform Commercial Code, government investigations and other general commercial disputes. He has also represented large and small financial institutions in a variety of consumer-related disputes.

Mountford earned his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Florida Levin College of Law and his Bachelor of Arts degree in Public Administration from Harding University.

Gunster has welcomed multiple attorneys in recent months across a variety of practices, further positioning it as a leading business law firm in Florida.
