Sills Cummis & Gross is pleased to announce the addition of Keith R. Hemming and Frank J. Vitolo as its newest Members of the Firm. Hemming joins the Litigation Department, where he will chair the Construction and Energy Law Practice. Vitolo joins the Real Estate Department with particular focus on land use and redevelopment.
 
Both Hemming and Vitolo were previously associated with Morristown, New Jersey based law firms before making the move to Newark-headquartered Sills Cummis. Sills Cummis recently opened an office in Holmdel, New Jersey (Monmouth County) and is working on planting a flag in Morristown, New Jersey (Morris County) in the near future as part of its growing expansion throughout the State of New Jersey.
 
Keith R. Hemming
Hemming joins the Litigation Department, where his practice focuses on commercial law, with an emphasis on representing owners, contractors, renewable energy firms, designers and manufacturers of building products. He regularly advises clients on complex commercial transactions and litigates claims in various federal and state courts, as well as arbitration tribunals involving all aspects of the design, procurement and construction of infrastructure.
 
Hemming began his career as a Deputy Attorney General. Since entering private practice, he has achieved significant results for his clients in construction claims associated with delay and productivity losses, disputed change orders, payment entitlements, design issues and bid protests. Hemming also has experience with matters governed by an array of energy programs and provides further counsel to clients in the negotiation and drafting of all types of construction contracts, including construction management, EPC, EPCM, GMP, cost-plus, subcontractor and design agreements.
 
Frank J. Vitolo
Vitolo, who joins the Real Estate Department, is a recognized leader in planning, zoning and redevelopment law. He served as lead development counsel for a number of major real estate projects in the greater Morristown area, including the planning and redevelopment of M-Station Morristown – Deloitte’s new headquarters in New Jersey.
 
Vitolo has also obtained favorable outcomes for clients involved in complex partnership and real estate disputes, and won dismissal of various commercial claims and consumer fraud actions in federal and state courts.
