Crain Caton & James Welcomes Financial Institutions Litigator

Crain Caton and James is pleased to announce that Philip C. Reeves joined the Banking and Financial Institutions Litigation Practice as an associate. Philip represents lenders, mortgage servicers and other financial institutions in state and federal district and appellate courts in suits related to mortgage lending, security interest enforcement and compliance with federal and state statutory regimes regulating both loan origination and subsequent enforcement of security instruments.   He assists banking and finance clients in litigation resulting from specific loans, transactions or financial products.  He advises financial institutions when conflicts occur from pricing, disclosure, management, and servicing issues.  Philip also has significant experience representing lenders in wrongful foreclosure cases in both federal and state courts across Texas.

“We are pleased to have Philip as part of the team.  Philip has been a litigator for 13 years and since banking is highly regulated, it is critical that financial clients are represented by litigators who have experience in their industry.  Philip has the industry-specific experience required to provide the service and advice needed by our clients,” states William “Pat” Huttenbach, a shareholder in the Banking and Financial Institutions Practice.
