Joseph E. Gortych has rejoined the northern New England law firm Downs Rachlin Martin PLLC. Joe joins the firm as Of Counsel and will practice intellectual property law from the firm’s Burlington, Vermont office.
Joe Gortych returns to DRM after a 20-year run owning and operating Opticus IP, a highly successful intellectual property law firm dedicated to optics, photonics and imaging technologies. His practice will continue to encompass all aspects of patent work for complex inventions in this arena, including the software, algorithm and image processing aspects of optical systems and devices. Technologies he protects range from quantum optics to lens design. As optical technology innovations expand into a wider range of industries, Joe’s unique combination of legal experience in IP and technical knowledge in optical technology provides an exceptional value to a variety of clients. His addition to the patent group further solidifies DRM as a leader in providing high-quality IP services over a broad spectrum of technologies and industries.
