Akerman Expands Domestic and Cross-border M&A and Private Equity Strengths, Brazil Capabilities
The arrival of Peter Eccles and Karyn Koiffman signals the continued growth of the Corporate Practice Group within Akerman LLP. Since January, their experience has fortified Akerman’s capabilities to represent clients involved in inbound and outbound ventures across Latin America, with an emphasis on Brazil.
Eccles, who arrives from Foley & Lardner in New York, focuses his practice on M&A, joint ventures, private equity and venture capital transactions and other corporate and commercial arrangements, with an importance on cross-border transactions in Latin America, particularly Brazil.
Koiffman, who hails from Baker McKenzie in Washington, D.C. and New York, represents private equity funds, private companies and public corporations in domestic and cross-border middle market deals, with a focus on acquisitions and divestitures, including leveraged buyout transactions, follow-on acquisitions, mergers, and stock and asset transactions.
