Hunton & Williams Opens Boston Office
Summary: Hunton & Williams is opening a new Boston office with a team of 14 commercial litigators.
Hunton & Williams LLP announced the expansion of their firm into Boston with a new office and a commercial litigation team of 14 lawyers. The group will join the law firm April 2, which includes Harry L. Manion III and former Massachusetts Attorney General Thomas Reilly. Hunton & Williams had just announced a merger last month with Andrews Kurth Kenyon LLP.
They are joining from a litigation boutique that Manion co-founded in 1984 called Manion Gaynor & Manning. Coming with the two are Manion’s head of the commercial litigation practice, Marton Gaynor, who will now serve as the managing partner of the Boston office. There are also two other partners, three senior counsel, and six associates.
Hunton & Williams Managing Partner Wally Martinez said, “I have known Harry for more two decades, and he is an excellent trial lawyer. He has been first chair in some of the most complex and challenging trials in the country and represented some of the top companies, business leaders, athletes and teams in New England and nationally. He has built an extraordinary team of litigators, and we are thrilled to welcome them to our firm.”
Martinez added, “In addition, the opportunity to enter the Boston market greatly expands the reach and depth of our national commercial litigation and trial practice, and the timing coincides with our national expansion and combination with Andrews Kurth Kenyon.”
