Corporate Attorney Joins Vinson & Elkins
Summary: Vinson & Elkins added an experienced corporate lawyer to their Energy Transactions and Projects group in Riyadh.
Vinson & Elkins LLP announced an addition to their Energy Transactions and Projects practice group. Corporate Attorney Wail Alkahtany joined the Law Office of Looaya M. Al-Akkas, in association with Vinson & Elkins, as Counsel. He will be based in Riyadh.
Alkahtany will focus his practice on capital markets, corporate governance, regulatory compliance, mergers and acquisitions and contractual disputes. He was a board member of the Saudi Arabian Capital Market Authority (CMA) from 2016 to 2017. From 2010 to 2016, he was the General Counsel and Secretary of the Board of Directors for the Saudi Arabian Investment Company. He started his legal career at Saudi Aramco as legal counsel.
Al-Akkas said, “Wail is a leading Saudi attorney whose broad experience will greatly benefit the firm and its clients. We are pleased to have him as a colleague and are looking forward to his future contributions.”

Alkahtany received his J.D. from Ohio State University in 2003.
