Dewey Urges Its Partners to Look Elsewhere
Dewey's top management, in a memo sent to its partners yesterday, has told them that they were free to look elsewhere even as the firm denies that it is going out of business. There was also a brief panic among the entire staff of the law firm when they realized that their health insurance provided by the firm was no longer valid. But the coverage was soon put back on and the firm said that the entire thing was the result of an administrative error. There are also rumors that Dewey is in the process of winding up its U.K. office. If the firm does go out of business, its 1000+ staff of lawyers will be entering one of the worst legal job markets in recent memory.
