U.S. Law Firms Get Official Date for Entry into South Korea

American law firms interested in setting up offices in South Korea now can start finalizing their plans. The free trade pact between both countries becomes effective as of March 15. Law firms can take advantage of this fact and finally set up shop in Asia’s third largest economy (and number 13 in the world).

There are already law firms getting ready to open up branches in South Korea. McDermott Will & Emery
has already said that it wants to set up a Seoul office. Some of the other firms that are also planning offices in South Korea are: Paul Hastings, Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton, Simpson Thacher & Bartlett and Sheppard, Mullin, Richter & Hampton.
