Merger Deal Between Ashurst and Blake Dawson
Ashurst and Blake Dawson are preparing for a full merger in 2014. The plan is approved by both parties with equal votes. It also entitles the Ashurst brand to be adopted in Australia as well as in the combined Asia offices. The integration of the Asian offices and the re-branding of Blake Dawson will take effect from March 2012. If both the firms combine, it would give the merger more than 1,700 lawyers and nearly $850 million as revenue. Ashurst is a 900 lawyer firm with nearly 75 lawyers in Asia and Blake Dawson will also contribute around 75 lawyers to the combined practice. The partners of Blake Dawson practicing in Asia will also be part of the Ashurst Asia group.
