The legal battle against an anticipated scope of practice for Navy jets in Camden County will continue, but with less noise than before. Camden County commissioners voted to extend the contract with a law firm in Raleigh. The Council decided not to re-appoint a PR firm. Camden County, Currituck County and neighbors agreed to share up to $35 000 in legal fees for the next six months. The two counties have spent almost $1 million in recent years to fight the matter. The Navy announced in January that its plans to build a practice airfield in Virginia and North Carolina were pending.
