Former D.C. Attorney General Returns to Former Firm
The former District of Columbia Attorney General, Peter Nickles, will return to the DC-based law firm Covington & Burling LLP, according to a statement provided by the firm on Thursday.
According to the firm,''[Nickles] will provide strategic legal advice to clients on internal investigations, high-profile litigation and contested corporate transactions. He will be a resident in Covington's Washington office.''
D.C. Council Chairman Vincent Gray called for Nickles' resignation from his post as D.C. Attorney General, claiming that Nickles had betrayed the public's trust by ''inappropriately [politicizing] his role and [facilitating] the Mayor's cronyism.''
