Reed Smith Slapped With Sexist Lawsuit
Reed Smith, the second largest law firm in Pittsburgh, is being sued by a female attorney who claims that the firm pays women less than their male counterparts.
JoEllen Lyons Dillon filed the federal lawsuit on Monday. David Egan, the chief marketing officer for Reed Smith says that the firm is ''confident that Reed Smith provides a positive working environment in all of [their] offices, including Pittsburgh.''
According to Dillon, junior female attorneys are only assigned cases if they are sleeping with supervising partners. When she asked about a promotion, she was asked if she was ''done having babies.''
