Erin is a recruiter in our Los Angeles office. Raised in Mammoth Lakes, Erin is a fourth generation Californian who graduated from Lewis & Clark College in Portland, OR with a B.A. in English and earned her J.D. from Vermont Law School where she focused her studies in environmental law. Intending to eventually return home, Erin took the California bar and then joined the Army.

ERIN'S LEGAL BACKGROUND
Erin spent four and half years in the United States Army Judge Advocate General's Corps ("JAG") practicing law in a fast-paced and demanding environment. During this time, she served as Lead Counsel for all environmental matters affecting Ft. Bragg, NC, one of the Army's largest installations at 161,000 acres and an annual budget exceeding $400 million. After a year as Lead Counsel, Erin was promoted to a position within the Army's Environmental Law Division in Washington, D.C. where she represented the Army and Marine Corps in a broad range of environmental litigation and compliance matters.

After completing her commitment to the Army, Erin returned to California and joined the well-respected regional law firm of Weston, Benshoof, Rochefort, Rubalcava, & MacCuish LLP as a litigation associate, where she remained for a number of years. Her practice areas included Environmental, IP, General Business and Bankruptcy.

BENEFITS OF WORKING WITH ERIN
Erin's background in a number of different practice areas, coupled with BCG's tremendously large and detailed database, allow her to quickly zero in on a law firm's needs and assess whether a candidate's qualifications will match that particular position. Erin is also sincerely interested in her candidates on both a professional and personal level and she thoroughly enjoys the career counseling that goes hand in hand with her job.

EFFECTIVE INTERVIEW COACHING
She particularly enjoys, and is very good at, preparing candidates for their interviews. She's been told by junior and senior candidates alike that the mock interview runs were extremely helpful and that they were often asked the same questions that Erin had posed to them during their prep.

SUCCESSFUL MARKETING OF CANDIDATES/ INDUSTRY KNOWLEDGE
Erin's background as a practicing attorney informs every aspect of her work as a recruiter: her writing, her presentation, her attention to detail, and her commitment to following up with candidates and firms alike. To give one example, Erin writes her cover letters in the same manner as a legal brief (in outline format with underlined headers) because this presentation is most familiar to the partners who read them.

Erin takes a great deal of pride in how she markets her candidates. This includes drafting engaging cover letters; re-writing resumes; and crafting eye-catching "feeler" e-mails to firms that do not have current openings in order to create interest in her candidates. Her research of firms is thorough and she often visits with law firms to meet with their hiring committees in order to gain a deeper understanding for their needs as well as their culture.

SUCCESS!
While new to the BCG team, Erin has already made her first placement. She chalks up this early success to her strong work ethic but also to the simple fact that she loves what she does. Erin often works weekends and she's excited to turn her computer on first thing in the morning to see what new developments have arisen over night.

Now that Erin has found her dream job, she is intent on helping candidates do the same while providing law firms with qualified individuals desirous of making a long term commitment.

Erin's free time is filled with family and friends, surfing, running, and reading. She and her dad have also recently planted an organic, antique cider-apple orchard and they're looking forward to making their first batch of hard cider when the harvest comes in.
