A law firm seeks a Senior Attorney for its Short Hills, NJ, office. The successful candidate will be responsible for a range of duties and must meet specific qualifications:

Job Overview:

The Senior Attorney will primarily be involved in civil litigation in state and federal courts. They will manage case dockets, conduct and defend depositions, appear in court, and provide high-quality legal services to clients. The ideal candidate should possess excellent research, writing, analytical skills, and trial experience.

Duties:

  • Effectively communicate, verbally and in writing, with clients, lawyers, business professionals, and third parties.
  • Produce deliverables, answer phone calls, and reply to correspondence efficiently and responsively.
  • Provide timely, accurate, and quality work products.
  • Successfully meet deadlines and expectations and perform work duties as required.
  • Foster positive work relationships within the firm.
  • Comply with all firm policies and practices.
  • Engage in physical and sedentary activities, such as working at a computer for extended periods, participating in digital/virtual conference calls, and attending meetings as needed.
  • Perform all other duties, tasks, or projects as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience with civil litigation in state and federal courts.
  • Excellent research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Experience conducting and defending depositions.
  • Proficiency in managing a case docket.
  • Trial experience is essential.
  • Experience handling multi-district litigation is a plus.

Education & Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the bar in the state of New Jersey.

Skills:

  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Exceptional organizational abilities.
  • Proficiency in legal research and writing.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
