Associate Attorney needed for New Orleans office

Job Overview: A law firm in New Orleans, LA, is seeking an Associate Attorney to assist in handling litigation, including defense of hurricane/catastrophe claims, property and casualty claims, and corporate and other defense matters. Duties:

• Assist in handling litigation cases, including defense of hurricane/catastrophe claims, property and casualty claims, and corporate and other defense matters.
• Conduct legal research and analysis on various legal issues.
• Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal correspondence.
• Prepare for and participate in hearings, depositions, and trials.
• Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and other parties involved in the legal process.
• Collaborate with senior attorneys and partners on case strategy and management.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the State Bar of Louisiana or eligibility for admission via reciprocity.
• 2-5 years of relevant experience in litigation, preferably in insurance defense.
• Strong understanding of civil procedure, evidence, and other relevant areas of law.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.

Education:
