A law firm is seeking an Associate Attorney for their Carlsbad, CA office. The Associate Attorney will be responsible for providing legal representation to clients, with a focus on employment law. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills, a commitment to excellent client service, and experience in civil litigation, including drafting pleadings, preparing motions for summary judgment, conducting depositions, and handling discovery motions.

 

Duties:

  • Provide legal counsel and representation to clients in employment law matters.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, and other legal documents.
  • Prepare motions for summary judgment and other dispositive motions.
  • Conduct depositions and participate in discovery proceedings.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and the court.
  • Collaborate with partners and senior attorneys on case strategy and tactics.
  • Manage case files and ensure deadlines are met.
  • Attend court hearings and represent clients in litigation proceedings.

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the California State Bar.
  • 0-5 years of civil litigation experience.
  • Experience with employment law preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Commitment to excellent client service.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.

 

Education:

Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

 

Certifications:

Admission to the California State Bar.

 

Skills:

  • Experience with civil litigation, including drafting pleadings and conducting depositions.
  • Knowledge of employment law principles and regulations.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to analyze complex legal issues and provide effective counsel.
