Job Overview:
A prestigious law firm based in New York City, NY is seeking an experienced real estate attorney at the mid-associate level to join a dynamic legal team. This opportunity involves high-impact legal advisory and representation in complex property and development matters, with a particular focus on deals that shape the urban landscape. The role offers exposure to a diverse range of clients, including civic institutions, non-profit organizations, developers, and private investors, and provides a pathway to deepen experience across a full suite of transactional real estate matters.

Duties:

  • Support and manage real estate transactions involving acquisitions, dispositions, financing, development, and leasing

  • Advise clients on zoning, land use, and entitlement issues, as well as construction and public-private partnership projects

  • Draft and negotiate complex agreements, including purchase and sale documents, leases, joint venture arrangements, and loan documents

  • Conduct and analyze title, survey, and other due diligence materials

  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver practical and innovative legal strategies

  • Participate in strategic planning for project execution and client development

  • Provide legal counsel to a variety of public, quasi-public, and private sector entities

Requirements:

  • Experience in real estate transactional work

  • Strong background in commercial real estate law, including familiarity with title and survey review

  • Prior work in land use or development matters is a plus

  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex, high-stakes transactions

  • Proven client service orientation with excellent judgment and attention to detail

  • Previous experience in a major law firm or well-regarded real estate boutique is highly desirable

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Admission to the New York State Bar in good standing
