Job Overview:
A prestigious law firm is actively seeking a Real Estate Associate Attorney to join its busy and well-established real estate practice group in New York. This full-time, partnership-track role is ideal for a candidate with 4-7 years of experience in either real estate debt or equity transactions. The position offers a dynamic environment and exposure to high-level transactions, including mortgage and mezzanine lending, acquisitions, dispositions, and joint ventures.

Location:

• New York City, NY

Duties:

• Handle real estate transactions with a focus on either debt (mortgage and mezzanine loan transactions) or equity (acquisitions, dispositions, and joint venture structures)

• Support large-scale and high-profile deals within a collaborative team

• Draft and negotiate real estate agreements and related transactional documents

• Collaborate with clients, lenders, and external counsel throughout the transaction lifecycle

• Ensure compliance with applicable real estate laws and regulations

Requirements:

• 4 to 7 years of experience (Class of 2021 to Class of 2018) in real estate law

• Background in either debt-side or equity-side real estate transactions

• Strong academic record and professional work ethic

• Excellent analytical, writing, and organizational skills

• Team-oriented mindset with strong communication skills

• New York Bar membership preferred; required within one year of hire

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited ABA-approved law school

Certifications:

• Admission to the New York State Bar (or eligibility to obtain it within 12 months of employment)

Skills:

• Proficiency in real estate law, especially debt/equity structuring

• Contract drafting and negotiation

• High attention to detail with strong analytical reasoning

• Effective project and time management under tight deadlines

• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced legal environment
