Associate Attorney needed for Chicago office

A law firm is seeking an Associate Attorney (Hybrid) for its Chicago, IL office with 1-5 years of experience in family law litigation. The ideal candidate must be motivated, possess knowledge and experience in family law, and demonstrate excellent negotiation and communication skills. Responsibilities include assisting clients from case inception to settlement or trial, conducting client communication to advise and inform decisions, making court appearances both in-person and via Zoom, drafting various legal documents, conducting discovery, and managing consultations with potential clients.

Duties:

• Assist clients with cases from inception to settlement or trial.
• Conduct client communication to advise and inform decisions.
• Make court appearances, both in-person and via Zoom.
• Draft motions, judgments, settlement agreements, correspondences, pretrial memorandums, and other legal documents.
• Conduct discovery.
• Conduct consultations with potential clients.

Requirements:

• Admitted to the Illinois Bar and currently in good standing.
• 1-5 years of experience in family law litigation.
• Strong legal research skills, specifically utilizing Westlaw.
• Outstanding communication skills.
• Good organizational and multitasking abilities.
• Comfortable handling multiple cases simultaneously.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Experience using law practice management software, such as Clio, is a plus.

Education:

Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

Admission to the Illinois Bar.
