Job Title: Associate Attorney

Job Overview:
A law firm based in Miami, FL, is seeking a resourceful and diligent Associate Attorney to contribute to its expanding legal team. The position focuses on handling matters related to civil litigation, immigration, and estate planning. This role requires a proactive legal professional capable of managing diverse casework independently while collaborating closely with senior attorneys and legal support teams. Duties:

  • Oversee a broad range of civil litigation matters from pre-litigation through trial preparation

  • Prepare pleadings, discovery documents, motions, and represent clients in court

  • Manage a variety of immigration cases, including family-based petitions, employment filings, waivers, and naturalization processes

  • Draft and review trust and estate documents, including wills, powers of attorney, and various types of trusts

  • Perform legal research and draft memoranda and legal briefs

  • Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel

  • Collaborate with senior attorneys and staff to achieve case milestones

  • Assist in trial preparation and attend legal proceedings such as depositions and mediations

  • Maintain organized case documentation and ensure compliance with procedural standards

Requirements:

  • Active license to practice law in the state of Florida

  • 2-5 years of hands-on experience in civil litigation, immigration law, and/or estate planning

  • Strong drafting and legal writing capabilities

  • Ability to manage multiple cases independently with high attention to detail

  • Effective communication skills for interacting with clients and legal professionals

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited institution

Certifications:

  • Admission to the Florida Bar in good standing

Skills:

  • Legal research and analytical reasoning

  • Written and verbal communication proficiency

  • Case strategy development and litigation support

  • Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish (required)

  • Familiarity with legal practice management systems (e.g., Clio, MyCase)
