Job Overview:

A nationally recognized law firm is seeking a highly experienced attorney to join its Private Client Department, with a focus on international estate planning for high-net-worth individuals and global families. This role offers the opportunity to handle sophisticated cross-border tax and estate matters, with a flexible hybrid work arrangement and potential placement in any of the firm’s U.S. office locations. The successful candidate will work alongside a collaborative, multidisciplinary legal team delivering strategic solutions on global wealth management and estate planning.

Location:

  • Miami, FL

Duties:

  • Advise high-net-worth clients on complex international estate planning strategies

  • Structure and implement cross-border wealth management plans for U.S. and non-U.S. taxpayers

  • Handle planning involving foreign trusts, pre-immigration and expatriation, and U.S. real estate purchases by foreign nationals

  • Ensure compliance with U.S. tax reporting obligations for clients with overseas interests

  • Collaborate with colleagues across disciplines on matters related to corporate, tax, and transactional law

  • Provide legal counsel to multinational families with cross-border assets and legal considerations

Requirements:

  • Minimum 4 years of experience in international estate planning

  • Proven ability to manage sophisticated legal matters for global clients

  • Demonstrated experience with foreign trusts, FATCA/FBAR compliance, and pre-immigration planning

  • Ability to work independently and proactively on complex issues

  • Collaborative mindset with client-focused service orientation

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Active bar membership in good standing in the relevant jurisdiction

Skills:

  • Strong technical legal knowledge and judgment

  • Excellent written and verbal communication

  • Strategic problem-solving capabilities

  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities

  • Familiarity with wealth planning tools and global compliance protocols
