Job Overview

A highly regarded law firm is seeking an experienced Private Client Trusts & Estates Associate or Senior Associate to join its nationally recognized Private Client Department. This role offers the opportunity to work with high-net-worth individuals, families, fiduciaries, family-owned businesses, and tax-exempt organizations on complex estate planning, trust administration, and wealth transfer strategies. Candidates will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and contribute to a dynamic and growing practice with national prominence in private wealth law.

Duties

  • Handle sophisticated private client matters involving trusts and estates

  • Advise on high-net-worth trust and estate planning and administration

  • Manage succession planning, lifetime gifting strategies, and charitable giving structures

  • Address estate and income taxation issues, including retirement asset planning

  • Develop tax-efficient family wealth transfer strategies

  • Collaborate with probate, tax litigation, and family office teams on multidisciplinary matters

  • Provide exceptional technical, professional, and client service support

  • Identify creative solutions for complex estate and tax planning needs

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of demonstrated experience in trusts and estates law

  • Proven experience in private client matters, tax planning, and succession planning

  • Strong written and verbal communication and advocacy skills

  • Commitment to client service excellence

  • Ability to work independently and proactively

  • Effective problem-solving skills with a collaborative team approach

  • Member in good standing with the Florida State Bar

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school

Certifications

  • Admission to the Florida State Bar

  • In-depth knowledge of federal and state tax laws related to trusts and estates

  • Expertise in estate planning for high-net-worth clients
