A law firm in Marietta is seeking a Senior Patent Attorney with 24 years of experience to support the firm's patent prosecution practice. The candidate will draft patent applications and prosecute applications through the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, specializing in electronics, semi-conductors, circuitry, optics, and lasers.
 
Duties:
• Draft patent applications and prosecute applications through the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
• Conduct technical research using available resources to support patent-related matters.
• Work on assignments from multiple partners and clients, meeting and managing internal and client-driven deadlines.
• Provide technical expertise to assist clients in protecting their technology with patents.
• Collaborate with attorneys and inventors to develop patent strategies.
 
Requirements:
• Bachelor's or Graduate Degree in a relevant field.
• Should have 24 years of experience drafting patent applications.
• Specialization in electronics, semi-conductors, circuitry, optics, or lasers.
• Registered to practice in front of the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
• Strong time management skills and ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Attention to detail, strong writing skills, and analytical skills.
 
Education:
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
Certifications:
• Registration to practice in front of the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
• If appropriate, licensed to practice law in their respective state.
 
Skills:
• Proficiency in drafting scientific and technical patent applications.
• Technical expertise in electronics, semi-conductors, circuitry, optics, or lasers.
• Ability to conduct technical research and analyze complex technical information.
• Strong time management skills to meet deadlines and manage multiple assignments.
• Excellent writing skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work collaboratively with attorneys and inventors.
