Mid-Level Appellate Associate

Job Overview:
A prominent law firm is seeking a Mid-Level Appellate Litigation Associate with 2–4 years of post-clerkship litigation experience to join its Complex Litigation and Dispute Resolution Department. This role focuses on high-stakes appellate and Supreme Court matters, particularly those involving intellectual property and patent litigation. This position is being recruited on behalf of the law firm by a professional legal recruitment agency.

Location:

Duties:

• Manage key aspects of appellate litigation matters

• Draft appellate briefs, motions, and related legal documents

• Conduct comprehensive legal research and case analysis

• Support appellate strategy development and execution

• Collaborate with senior litigators and case teams

• Engage with high-level courts, including the U.S. Supreme Court when applicable

Requirements:

• 2–4 years of litigation experience post-clerkship

• Demonstrated experience with appellate litigation

• Background in matters involving intellectual property, with a focus on patent litigation preferred

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Relevant bar admission or eligibility for prompt admission required

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

• Proven academic excellence

Certifications:

• Active or eligible bar membership in the District of Columbia

• Completion of one or more appellate or Supreme Court clerkships preferred
