Mid-Level To Senior Debt Finance Associate Attorney

A law firm in Washington, D.C. is seeking a Mid-Level to Senior Debt Finance Associate Attorney to join their team.

Job Overview:

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to contribute significantly to the growth of special situations, restructuring, and private equity practices, which are among the firm's most strategically important areas. They must demonstrate the ability to collaborate effectively within a culturally diverse team environment and possess substantial experience in secured lending matters, including domestic and cross-border acquisitions, restructuring, reorganizations, and general corporate finance.

Duties:

• Contribute to the development and execution of complex secured lending transactions.
• Work closely with deal teams to facilitate signings and closings.
• Draft and review debt commitment papers and credit documentation.
• Provide legal counsel on a wide range of corporate finance matters.
• Conduct legal research and analysis as needed.

Requirements:

• 6-7 years of experience in debt finance or related practice areas.
• Admission to and in good standing with the District of Columbia Bar.
• Prior experience as a key member of deal teams is preferred.
• Familiarity with direct lending, special situation financings, and restructuring transactions is beneficial.

Education & Certifications:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the District of Columbia Bar is required.

• Strong understanding of secured lending principles and practices.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
• Proficiency in legal research and analysis.
