Job Overview:

A law firm in Los Angeles, CA is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Development / Finance Counsel to join their team. This role requires a seasoned attorney with a strong background in engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) projects. The ideal candidate will excel in advising and negotiating EPC contracts and agreements, bringing both stellar academic credentials and substantial law firm or in-house experience.

Duties:

  • Advise clients on legal aspects of EPC projects, including contract formation, negotiation, and performance.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate EPC contracts, subcontracts, and related agreements.
  • Provide legal counsel on risk management, compliance, and regulatory matters associated with EPC projects.
  • Collaborate with clients, project managers, and other stakeholders to resolve legal issues and disputes.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis to support project development and finance strategies.
  • Develop and implement legal strategies to mitigate risks and enhance project outcomes.
  • Stay updated on relevant laws, regulations, and industry trends impacting EPC projects.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in advising and negotiating EPC contracts and agreements.
  • Strong understanding of the engineering, procurement, and construction sectors.
  • Excellent drafting and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to manage complex legal issues and provide strategic solutions.
  • Demonstrated success in working with clients and stakeholders in high-stakes environments.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Strong academic credentials, with a focus on contract law, construction law, or related fields.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the Bar in California.

Skills:

  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficient in contract drafting, negotiation, and legal research.
