A law firm in Miami, FL, is seeking a Litigation Attorney to handle all aspects of cases in state and federal court, from pre-trial preparation to trial. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of winning, impeccable communication and negotiation skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

 

Job Duties:

  • Manage all aspects of cases in state and federal court, including pre-trial preparation, court appearances, motions, depositions, mediations, negotiations, and trial.
  • Meet with clients to gather information and file lawsuits as necessary.
  • Propound and respond to written discovery requests.
  • Schedule and attend fact witness depositions.
  • Retain appropriate experts and attend expert depositions.
  • Schedule and attend all hearings and court appearances.
  • Prepare for and attend mediations to resolve disputes.
  • Prepare cases for trial, including conducting legal research and drafting legal documents.
  • Represent clients in trial proceedings and advocate on their behalf.
  • Prepare and file appropriate post-trial motions as needed.
  • Attend file audits, litigation attorney meetings, and trial clinics.

 

Requirements:

  • A license in good standing to practice law in Florida.
  • A proven track record of winning, including at least 2 jury trials as first chair.
  • Impeccable verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent negotiation skills.
  • Strong analytical and research skills.

 

Education:

Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

 

Certifications:

License to practice law in Florida.

 

Skills:

  • Proficiency in all aspects of litigation, from pre-trial preparation to trial advocacy.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to conduct legal research and analyze complex legal issues.
  • Detail-oriented and organized approach to case management.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
