Junior Associate Attorney

A law firm in Fairfax, VA, is looking for a Junior Associate Attorney with a passion for domestic law and a demonstrated interest in litigation. The ideal candidate will attend return hearings and pretrial conferences, engage in matters of divorce, child custody/support, adoptions, and domestic violence, and possess strong capabilities in legal research and writing. Duties:

• Attend return hearings and pretrial conferences, actively representing clients and managing case requirements.
• Handle various aspects of domestic law, including divorce, child custody and support, adoptions, and domestic violence cases.
• Collaborate with other team members to provide top-notch legal services and client support.
• Demonstrate proactive involvement in litigation processes, including preparing and presenting cases.
• Conduct comprehensive legal research and draft various legal documents with precision and clarity.
• Engage in continuous learning and development in domestic law to better serve clients and enhance legal practice.

Requirements:

• Must be an active member in good standing of the Virginia State Bar.
• Demonstrated interest and experience in domestic law and litigation.
• Excellent verbal and legal writing skills.
• Proficiency in conducting thorough legal research.
• Fluency in Spanish is highly preferred but not required.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple cases simultaneously.

Education:

• Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Licensed to practice law in the State of Virginia.
