Employment Litigation Attorney

Job Overview

A prestigious law firm in New York City, NY, is seeking an experienced Employment Litigation Attorney to join its dynamic legal team. This role offers the opportunity to handle a comprehensive caseload, advocating for clients throughout the litigation process. The position provides extensive hands-on experience in employment law disputes while working alongside a team of skilled attorneys.

Duties

  • Manage all phases of employment litigation cases from intake through resolution

  • Draft legal documents, including demand letters, complaints, and motions

  • Represent clients in court hearings, conferences, and negotiations

  • Conduct legal research and develop case strategies

  • Prepare and respond to discovery requests and participate in depositions

  • Engage in settlement discussions, including mediation and settlement conferences

Requirements

  • Licensed to practice law in the State of New York

  • 3-8 years of experience in employment litigation

  • Proficiency in handling cases under:

    • Title VII of the Civil Rights Act

    • The New York State Human Rights Law

    • The New York City Human Rights Law

    • Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA)

    • New York Labor Law (NYLL)

  • Strong advocacy, negotiation, and litigation skills

  • Ability to manage multiple cases and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school

Certifications

  • Admission to the New York State Bar

Skills

  • Excellent legal writing and analytical skills

  • Strong oral advocacy and courtroom presence

  • Detail-oriented with the ability to work independently and collaboratively

  • Proficiency in legal research and case preparation
