Job Overview:
A well-established law firm is looking for a driven and dynamic Personal Injury Associate Attorney to join their team in Louisville, KY. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing a variety of personal injury cases from inception to conclusion, interacting with clients, insurance companies, and medical professionals, and handling various aspects of litigation. This position offers significant opportunities for growth, training, and hands-on experience, particularly for those interested in personal injury law and trial practice.

Duties:

  • Manage a diverse caseload, including client communication, case follow-up, and insurance claim management.
  • Draft legal documents, including discovery responses, pleadings, and demand letters.
  • Assist in settlement negotiations and manage case progressions.
  • Adhere to court deadlines, take depositions, and participate in medical proof gathering.
  • Assist in trial preparation, including creating medical charts, and evidence summaries, and handling other trial-related tasks.
  • Maintain effective client relations, ensuring timely updates and accurate case handling.
  • Manage liens, IMEs, and medical billing summaries, ensuring all details are handled properly.
  • Collaborate with the team, providing support in other areas as needed.

Requirements:

  • At least 2 years of experience in personal injury law (trial experience is a plus).
  • Experience as a law clerk or in a similar role within a personal injury law firm is acceptable.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to case management.
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team setting, adapting to changing case dynamics.
  • Ability to manage multiple calendars and meet court deadlines.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in the state of Kentucky.

Skills:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Proficient with technology, preferably Apple-based systems.
  • Ability to effectively negotiate and settle cases.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a positive, professional demeanor.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
