A law firm seeks a highly skilled Personal Injury Litigation Attorney to join its expanding practice in Louisville, KY, with the flexibility to work from home. The ideal candidate will handle a range of personal injury cases, particularly motor vehicle accidents, while also preparing for trial in various other personal injury matters. This role offers an excellent opportunity to grow professionally while making a significant impact in securing justice for injured victims.

Duties:

  • Manage and litigate personal injury cases, focusing on motor vehicle accidents, including all stages from pre-litigation to trial preparation.
  • Draft, file, and review litigation documents, such as pleadings, discovery requests and responses, motions, and memoranda.
  • Guide clients through the legal process, ensuring clear communication and comprehensive support.
  • Work with expert witnesses, including organizing conferences, and assisting in the preparation of expert reports and affidavits.
  • Prepare and attend depositions, mediations, hearings, and court appearances.
  • Participate in ongoing training programs and seminars, including those outside of regular business hours, to stay current on legal developments.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years of litigation experience.
  • At least 2 years of experience in personal injury law.
  • Kentucky Bar License (required).
  • Active membership in the State Bar in good standing.
  • Proven ability to manage a high caseload, typically averaging 50+ cases.
  • Strong client service and communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with clients and opposing counsel.
  • A self-motivated individual with a focus on long-term career development.
  • Excellent written and oral advocacy skills, with a track record of successfully managing litigation matters.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active Kentucky State Bar membership.

Skills:

  • Expertise in personal injury law and litigation procedures.
  • Exceptional legal research, writing, and drafting skills.
  • Strong negotiation and settlement skills.
  • Ability to handle complex litigation cases and collaborate with expert witnesses.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a legal team.
