Job Overview: A law firm is seeking a Mid-Level Digital Risk Advisory And Cybersecurity Associate Attorney with 4-6 years of experience. The candidate will focus on proactive and reactive privacy and data protection compliance matters, including advising on data security incidents and related regulatory investigations. The role also involves ensuring compliance with contractual and legal obligations related to security.

Duties:

  • Advise on privacy and security obligations, ensuring compliance with state, federal, and international data security incident notification requirements.
  • Defend regulatory investigations related to privacy and security matters.
  • Provide legal counsel on matters related to complying with contractual and legal obligations related to security.
  • Effectively manage a fast-paced, complex workload while maintaining priorities and anticipating issues.
  • Learn and understand technology and forensic investigations to interact with technically skilled individuals and distill key issues for non-technical team members.

Requirements:

  • 4-6 years of relevant experience in privacy, cybersecurity breach response, or litigation with a demonstrated interest in privacy and cybersecurity.
  • Law firm or in-house privacy and cybersecurity breach response experience is preferred.
  • Exceptional project management skills.
  • Awareness of data privacy and security laws.
  • Effective and persuasive writing and oral communication skills.
  • Motivation to learn and understand technology and forensic investigations.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Relevant certifications in privacy and cybersecurity (preferred).

Skills:

  • Exceptional project management skills.
  • Effective and persuasive writing and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to manage a fast-paced, complex workload.
  • Awareness of data privacy and security laws.
