Job Overview: A law firm seeks a mid-to-senior-level Litigation And Cybersecurity Associate Attorney to join its Washington, DC, office. The ideal candidate will possess substantial experience in commercial litigation, cybersecurity, and data privacy.

Duties:

  • Represent clients in various stages of commercial litigation proceedings, including drafting pleadings, motions, and briefs and conducting legal research and analysis.
  • Provide legal counsel on cybersecurity and data privacy matters, including compliance with regulations and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Collaborate with clients to develop effective litigation and cybersecurity strategies tailored to their needs and objectives.
  • Conduct investigations and assessments related to cybersecurity incidents, data breaches, and other security-related incidents.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 4+ years of experience in commercial litigation at a law firm.
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity and data privacy issues, with preference given to candidates holding an IAPP CIPP/US certification.
  • Exceptional legal research and writing skills demonstrated through prior work products.
  • Proven record of academic excellence.
  • Admission to practice law in PA, NY, NJ, and/or D.C. is preferred.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Preferred: IAPP CIPP/US certification.

Skills:

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in legal research tools and technology.
