A law firm in Oxford seeks a Litigation Associate Attorney who will be a key member of the legal team, responsible for handling various litigation matters. They will advocate for clients in legal proceedings, conduct legal research, and draft legal documents. The ideal candidate should possess strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

 

Duties:

  • Conduct legal research and analysis on a wide range of litigation issues.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and other legal documents.
  • Represent clients in court proceedings, including hearings, trials, and arbitrations.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys to develop case strategies and tactics.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel.
  • Manage case files, including organizing documents, tracking deadlines, and maintaining case calendars.
  • Attend depositions, witness interviews, and settlement negotiations as needed.

 

Requirements:

  • Must be licensed to practice law in Mississippi.
  • Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school.
  • Minimum of 2 years of litigation experience, preferably in a law firm environment.
  • Strong understanding of Mississippi civil procedure and evidence rules.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize deadlines.
  • Proficiency in legal research tools and software.

 

Education:

Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school.

 

Certifications:
