Job Overview: A law firm in Atlanta, GA, is seeking a Litigation Counsel with a strong background in product liability and/or complex commercial litigation. The ideal candidate will have 8+ years of litigation experience, preferably gained at an AmLaw 100 firm, and must possess a science background (MD, MPH, PharmD, Epidemiology). Superior research, analytical, and writing skills are essential, along with experience in the pharmaceutical and medical device industry. Strong communication, interpersonal, and project management skills are required, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Duties:

  • Effectively communicate, verbally and in writing, with clients, lawyers, business professionals, and third parties.
  • Produce deliverables, answer phone calls, and reply to correspondence in an efficient and responsive manner.
  • Provide timely, accurate, and quality work products.
  • Successfully meet deadlines and expectations and perform work duties as required.
  • Foster positive work relationships.
  • Comply with all firm policies and practices.
  • Engage in both physical and sedentary activities, such as (a) working at a computer for extended periods of time, including on-screen reading and typing; (b) participating in digital/virtual conference calls; (c) participating in meetings as needed.
  • Perform all other duties, tasks, or projects as assigned.

Requirements:

  • J.D. degree.
  • 8+ years of litigation experience.
  • GA Bar admission.
  • Direct and applicable AmLaw 100 law firm experience.

Education:

  • J.D. degree.
  • A science background (MD, MPH, PharmD, Epidemiology) is preferred.

Certifications:

  • GA Bar admission.

Skills:

  • Superior research, analytical, and writing skills.
  • Experience with product liability and/or complex commercial litigation.
  • Experience in the pharmaceutical and medical device industry preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize.
  • Strong project management skills and attention to detail.
  • A strong academic background from nationally recognized schools is preferred.
