A law firm in New York City, NY, is seeking a skilled Attorney specializing in Architects and Engineer Errors and Omissions (E&O) and Construction Defect cases. The ideal candidate will have experience representing design professionals, developers, and contractors in complex litigation, with a strong trial track record at both state and federal levels.

Duties:

  • Handle a caseload involving Architects and Engineer E&O and Construction Defect matters from inception to resolution.
  • Conduct legal research, draft pleadings, motions, and briefs.
  • Manage discovery, including document production, deposition preparation, and witness interviews.
  • Represent clients at hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trials.
  • Develop case strategies in collaboration with clients and senior attorneys.
  • Provide sound legal advice and guidance to clients on complex legal issues.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the New York State Bar; additional admissions in neighboring states are advantageous.
  • 5+ years of litigation experience with a focus on Architects and Engineer E&O and Construction Defect cases.
  • Proven trial experience with successful outcomes in both state and federal courts.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Excellent analytical, writing, research, and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in handling insurance coverage issues related to construction defects.
  • Familiarity with relevant building codes, standards, and regulations.
  • Prior experience in alternative dispute resolution methods such as mediation and arbitration.

Certifications:

  • No specific certifications required, but any relevant certifications in construction law or litigation would be beneficial.
