A law firm in Jacksonville, FL, is seeking a Litigation Associate Attorney with 3-7 years of experience. The ideal candidate should possess strong skills in communication, legal advocacy, and writing. Excellent academic credentials and prior experience in one or more of the firm's focus areas are preferred. A Florida bar license is required for this position.

 

Duties:

  • Conduct legal research and analysis on various litigation matters.
  • Draft and review legal documents, including pleadings, motions, briefs, and discovery.
  • Represent clients in court hearings, trials, mediations, and arbitrations.
  • Prepare for and attend depositions, oral arguments, and other case-related proceedings.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys and legal team members on case strategy and development.
  • Provide legal counsel and guidance to clients on litigation matters.
  • Manage a caseload of diverse litigation cases and ensure deadlines are met.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed case records and documentation.
  • Stay updated on changes in laws and regulations relevant to litigation practice.
  • Assist with settlement negotiations and alternative dispute resolution.

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Active license to practice law in Florida (Florida bar license).
  • 3-7 years of litigation experience in a law firm setting.
  • Strong skills in communication, legal advocacy, and persuasive writing.
  • Excellent academic credentials.
  • Prior experience in one or more of the firm's focus areas (preferred): Construction litigation, Insurance defense, Commercial litigation, Personal injury, Employment law.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in legal research and case analysis.
  • Familiarity with court procedures and rules of evidence.
  • Strong work ethic and commitment to providing high-quality legal services.
  • Florida Bar certification in civil trial or other relevant certifications (a plus).
