A law firm in San Francisco is seeking a Mid-Level Labor and Employment Associate Attorney with 3-5 years of experience. Ideal candidates will have a strong background in representing employers on both a class and individual basis regarding various labor and employment issues, including wage and hour compliance, employment discrimination, sexual harassment, retaliation, leaves of absence, employee accommodations, personnel policies, and employment agreements. Traditional labor (labor management) skills are a plus. The candidate must be in good standing with the CA State Bar and should demonstrate solid academic performance in law school, strong interpersonal, writing and analytical skills, attention to detail, and the desire and initiative to "take ownership" over work and career.

 

Duties:

  • Represent employers on both a class and individual basis in labor and employment matters.
  • Provide legal advice and counsel on wage and hour compliance, employment discrimination, sexual harassment, retaliation, leaves of absence, employee accommodations, personnel policies, and employment agreements.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis on labor and employment law issues.
  • Draft and review legal documents, including pleadings, motions, briefs, and contracts.
  • Assist with discovery, including drafting and responding to discovery requests, conducting depositions, and preparing witnesses.
  • Collaborate with partners and senior attorneys on complex labor and employment litigation matters.
  • Stay updated on relevant federal, state, and local labor and employment laws and regulations.
  • Participate in client meetings, hearings, and other legal proceedings as necessary.

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • 3-5 years of experience in labor and employment law.
  • Strong academic performance in law school.
  • Good standing with the CA State Bar.
  • Strong interpersonal, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to take ownership over work and career.
  • Traditional labor (labor management) skills are a plus.
