A law firm based in San Francisco, CA, is seeking an Employment Defense Litigation Associate Attorney with 3+ years of experience on either the defense or plaintiff's side. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in employment litigation, including discrimination, harassment, wage & hour, and employment contract cases.

 

Job Overview:

The Employment Defense Litigation Associate Attorney will be responsible for handling a variety of employment litigation matters, providing advice and counsel on workplace law issues, and developing strategies for defending clients in employment-related disputes. This role requires excellent oral and written communication skills, familiarity with federal and state employment statutes, and the ability to work independently.

 

Duties:

  • Handle employment litigation matters, including discrimination, harassment, wage & hour, and employment contract cases
  • Develop litigation strategy and draft pleadings, motions, and other legal documents
  • Take and defend depositions
  • Argue motions in court
  • Provide advice and counsel on workplace law issues, including employee relations, mitigation of risk, ADA and other workplace accommodations, employment agreements, reductions-in-force, and employment-related policies
  • Conduct legal research and analysis
  • Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and the court
  • Manage and prioritize workload effectively

 

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience in employment litigation
  • Admitted to the California Bar
  • J.D. from an ABA-accredited Law School
  • Law Review and/or Moot Court experience preferred
  • Strong academic credentials
  • Familiarity with federal and state employment statutes
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

 

Education:

Juris doctorate from an ABA-accredited Law School

 

Certifications:

Admission to the California Bar

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects effectively
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Familiarity with federal and state employment statutes
  • Experience developing litigation strategy and drafting legal documents
