Job Overview
A respected law firm in Houston, Texas is seeking a skilled and dedicated Family Law Associate Attorney to join its growing team. This role provides an opportunity to handle a diverse family law caseload while working closely with the firm’s leadership. The successful candidate will be passionate about advocating for clients, have excellent litigation and negotiation skills, and be committed to delivering high-quality legal services.

Duties

  • Conduct legal research, case analysis, and preparation in family law matters

  • Draft legal documents including pleadings, motions, and correspondence

  • Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel

  • Represent clients in hearings, depositions, mediations, and other legal proceedings

  • Attend client meetings and consultations, providing legal strategy and updates

  • Collaborate with senior attorneys and legal staff to manage active cases efficiently

  • Monitor legal developments in family law and related areas

  • Uphold the firm’s standards for ethical practice and client advocacy

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience practicing family law

  • Demonstrated ability to manage a family law caseload independently

  • Experience in immigration or personal injury law is a plus, but not required

  • Strong time management and organizational abilities

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an ABA-accredited law school

Certifications

  • Active and in good standing with the Texas State Bar

  • Eligibility for admission via waiver or reciprocity (if applicable)

Skills

  • Proficiency in legal research, writing, and analysis

  • Effective oral and written communication

  • Strong interpersonal and client service skills

  • Professional demeanor with a commitment to ethical standards

  • Bilingual in Spanish or another language is a plus
