Job Title: Attorney/Lawyer

Job Overview:
A respected law firm located in Houston, TX, is actively seeking a driven and resourceful attorney with a strong interest in family law. The role involves direct client engagement, courtroom representation, and managing a diverse caseload involving family-related matters such as divorce, custody, and paternity issues. Duties:

  • Draft and file pleadings, motions, orders, and legal correspondence

  • Conduct client consultations and maintain ongoing communication

  • Represent clients in hearings, trials, and settlement conferences

  • Interview and prepare witnesses for court proceedings

  • Maintain organized case files and track deadlines

  • Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of all legal filings

  • Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda on case law

  • Collaborate with court staff, opposing counsel, and firm colleagues

  • Participate in strategy meetings and contribute to case planning

  • Manage administrative responsibilities related to assigned cases

Requirements:

  • Active license to practice law in the State of Texas

  • Demonstrated commitment or interest in family law practice

  • Strong litigation, negotiation, and communication skills

  • Professional presence in the courtroom and with clients

  • Ability to manage multiple cases efficiently and effectively

  • Readiness to handle cases independently with minimal oversight

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Must be in good standing with the State Bar of Texas

Skills:

  • Legal drafting and analytical writing

  • Oral advocacy and courtroom presence

  • Client relationship management

  • Case strategy and trial preparation

  • Organizational skills and time management

  • Familiarity with family law procedural rules and local court requirements
