Job Title: Family Law Attorney

Job Overview:
A respected law firm based in Houston, TX, seeks a skilled and compassionate attorney to handle a wide range of family law matters. This opportunity, available through a legal recruiting agency, involves working with individuals facing emotionally complex challenges such as divorce, custody disputes, and spousal support. The ideal candidate will possess strong courtroom presence, adept negotiation tactics, and the ability to provide thoughtful guidance during high-stress situations. The role includes a mix of litigation, client counseling, and strategic case management.

Duties:

• Represent clients in courtroom proceedings, including hearings and trials related to divorce, custody, and other domestic matters

• Prepare legal documents, including pleadings, motions, settlement agreements, judgments, and orders

• Conduct legal research and develop case strategies tailored to each client's unique circumstances

• Oversee the division of marital property, including real estate and financial assets

• Handle sensitive legal issues such as domestic violence, child abuse, and custody with discretion and empathy

• Communicate regularly with internal legal staff to maintain case progress

• Maintain well-organized and up-to-date client files

• Manage a high-volume docket and independently oversee all case phases from intake to resolution

• Seek timely resolutions through settlement or trial, aligned with the client's best interests

Requirements:

• At least 3 years of hands-on experience in family law litigation

• Deep familiarity with Texas family law statutes and courtroom procedures

• Demonstrated ability to manage emotionally charged and sensitive client matters

• Strong courtroom and trial experience with a record of effective legal advocacy

• Proficiency in drafting a wide array of legal documents

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• Active license to practice law in the State of Texas
