Job Overview

A distinguished law firm is seeking an experienced Labor and Employment Attorney to join its Labor, Employment & Immigration Practice Group at the Principal level. This role offers the opportunity to counsel and represent management-side clients in a wide range of employment law matters. The position emphasizes collaboration with attorneys across multiple offices while working in a collegial and professional environment.

Location

Duties

  • Advise management-side clients on employment/independent contractor agreements, wage and hour compliance, employee leave/ADA accommodation, terminations, and separation agreements

  • Review and draft employment manuals, policies, and handbooks

  • Represent clients in employment litigation and administrative proceedings

  • Provide strategic counseling on labor and employment-related risk management

  • Collaborate across practice groups to support multi-disciplinary client needs

  • Participate in firm-wide diversity, pro bono, and public service initiatives

Requirements

  • Minimum of 7 to 10 years of experience practicing employment law

  • Prior employment litigation experience required

  • Labor/union experience preferred

  • Strong understanding of management-side employment issues

  • Ability to manage a significant workload independently and as part of a team

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school

Certifications

  • Admission to the New York State Bar required

  • Admission to the California State Bar is a plus

  • Organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities effectively
